HRH The Prince of Wales

I was pleased and honoured to be asked by Campaign For Wool Canada to make a wool bust of their patron, HRHThe Prince of Wales, in honour of the 10th anniversary celebrations of their global initiative. To watch a video of the artist talk see the post: HRH The Prince of Wales . More photos coming soon...

About this series

Making these faces feels like an intimate dance. Taking the mounds of soft wool into my hands, moving and guiding, pushing and pulling the small barbed wands teasing the fibres into denser folds. I step back, pause, circle, listen with my hands and eyes, drink in the knowledge of traditions, approach, and slowly start again, and again till their essence is revealed.
